Lavington- Jindera Little Athletics Centre is one of three Little Athletics Centres in Albury/Wodonga. All three Centres are affiliated with Little Athletics Victoria (LAVIC). Lavington-Jindera Little Athletics Centre has been in operation for around 30 years now. We hold our competition nights on a Friday night at the Les O’Brien Athletics Precinct in Albury between October and April.
After years of fund-raising Lavington-Jindera Little Athletics Centre have been able to purchase two sets of timing gates and are now offering local schools and local community groups the ability to hire them for the use for their own athletics carnivals.
The electronic timing system removes the inaccuracies as each lane is individually timed and leaves no doubt about who finished in what place and precisely what time they ran.
Lavington-Jindera Little Athletics Centre currently can have either a complete set of 10 lanes of gates set up on the front straight (traditional method) or one set of 8 lanes of gates on the front straight as well as 7 lanes of gates on the back straight. This will help the larger schools run their sprint races quicker. We are the only centre locally that can have both straights operating at once.
Currently, we are still using the traditional ‘cap gun’ for the start system and soon will be incorporating an electronic starting system.
